Uṭṭhānavato satimato,
sucikammassa nisammakārino;
saññatassa ca dhammajīvino,
appamattassa yaso’bhivaḍḍhati.

The glory of one who is energetic,
mindful, pure in conduct,
considerate, self-controlled, righteous,
and heedful, steadily increases.

Patirūpadesavāso ca,
pubbe ca katapuññatā;
attasammāpaṇidhi ca,
etam maṅgalamuttama.

To live in a suitable place,
to have the merit of past good deeds,
