Mahapajapati Gotami
Published as a part of the series by VRI on the 'Great Disciples of the Buddha', this book aims to motivate old students to continue their practice seriously as well as to inspire new students to walk the same path as the exemplary practitioners of Vipassana meditation.
Mahapajapati Gotami, a Koliyan princess and daughter of Ajjan from Sakya clan was the maternal aunt and an adoptive mother of Prince Siddhattha, the future Buddha. She raised the prince after her sister, Mahamaya, died within seven days after giving birth to him.
