The Govt. of Maharastra has passed a GR No 'Sankirn 2011/296/11/se-3' on 5th October, 2011 with regards to conduction of Anapana Courses for school children of Maharastra. Anapana Meditation will now be taught in all schools in the state of Maharastra.
As per the GR, schools will have to conduct a One-Day Anapana Meditation course for all their children studying in 5th to 10th Std. This course will be of 5- 6 hours duration with emphasis on daily practice of 10 min. The Anapana Meditation course has to be conducted by Vipassana Research Institute and its authorized representatives only.
The GR also makes it easy for school teachers and adminstrators to attend a 10-Day Vipassana Course at the in Dhammagiri, Igatpuri or its designated center. For this, they can avail of special 14 days paid leave on duty. Attendance certificate will be provided by the Vipassana Center conducting the course.
Those Schools who wish to have the Anapana course conducted at their school should download this application form and mail the same to ccmah@vridhamma.org
School Teachers who wish to attend the 10 Day Vipassana Meditation Course should download this application form and mail the same to ccmah@vridhamma.org.
